I have been counseling parents of young children for over 25 years.
My professional training is in Clinical Social Work.

Training:

Master of Social Work in Clinical Casework, Wurzweiler School of Social Work Yeshiva University, NY (1979 – 81)

Family and Child Psychotherapy Internship, including training in parenting counseling at “The Warmline,” a parenting  counseling phone service at Cedar –Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles (1984 – 85)

Employment:

Private Practice Parenting Counseling by Phone with parents throughout the US and Europe (1985- Present)

Parenting Counselor (for parents of twins and triplets) at Twin Services, Berkeley (1986 - 90)

Clinical Social Worker, Jewish Family and Children’s’ Services of the East Bay: Counseling individuals, couples, parents; child therapy, clinical consultant to all the Jewish preschools in the East Bay, working closely with preschool principals, teachers and parents. (1990 – 99)

In 1999 I took a decade+ departure in my career, moving into community work, but I continued to offer parenting counseling by phone throughout those years:

1999 –2005:    Director of Community Education, Osher Marin Jewish Community Center
2005 – 2010:    Bay Area Regional Director, Progressive Jewish Alliance

Publications:

I have written and illustrated 2 books for parents and children called “Let’s Make A Book About It,” published by Tricycle Press (now at Random House):

“We are Moving,” (now out of print; you have to troll the internet to find a copy)

“My Pet Died” (also out of print but you can order a copy from me).

In another field of interest: Women and Jewish Law (Schocken Books, 1984)
